First Nation and Inuit traditions maintain that indigenous people have resided on their lands since the beginning of time, while archaeological studies support a human presence in the northern Yukon from 26,500 years ago, and in southern Ontario from 9,500 years ago. Europeans first arrived when the Vikings settled briefly at L'Anse aux Meadows around AD 1000, following the failure of that colony, there was no further attempt at North American exploration until 1497, when John Cabot explored Canada's Atlantic coast for England, followed by Jacques Cartier in 1534 for France.

The Royal Proclamation (1763) carved the Province of Quebec out of New France and annexed Cape Breton Island to Nova Scotia. It also restricted the language and religious rights of French Canadians. In 1769, St. John's Island (now Prince Edward Island) became a separate colony. To avert conflict in Quebec, the Quebec Act of 1774 expanded Quebec's territory to the Great Lakes and Ohio Valley and re-established the French language, Catholic faith, and French civil law in Quebec; it angered many residents of the Thirteen Colonies, helping to fuel the American Revolution. The Treaty of Paris (1783) recognized American independence and ceded territories south of the Great Lakes to the United States. Approximately 50,000 United Empire Loyalists fled the United States to Canada.[20] New Brunswick was split from Nova Scotia as part of a reorganization of Loyalist settlements in the Maritimes. To accommodate English-speaking Loyalists in Quebec, the Constitutional Act of 1791 divided the province into French-speaking Lower Canada and English-speaking Upper Canada, granting each their own elected Legislative Assembly.

Canada (Upper and Lower) was the main front in the War of 1812 between the United States and the British Empire. The defence of Canada contributed to a sense of unity among British North Americans. Large-scale immigration to Canada began in 1815 from Britain and Ireland. The timber industry surpassed the fur trade in importance in the early nineteenth century.

The desire for responsible government resulted in the aborted Rebellions of 1837. The Durham Report subsequently recommended responsible government and the assimilation of French Canadians into British culture. The Act of Union 1840 merged The Canadas into a United Province of Canada. French and English Canadians worked together in the Assembly to reinstate French rights. Responsible government was established for all British North American provinces by 1849.

The signing of the Oregon Treaty by Britain and the United States in 1846 ended the Oregon boundary dispute, extending the border westward along the 49th parallel and paving the way for British colonies on Vancouver Island (1849) and in British Columbia (1858). Canada launched a series of western exploratory expeditions to claim Rupert's Land and the Arctic region. The Canadian population grew rapidly because of high birth rates; British immigration was offset by emigration to the United States, especially by French Canadians moving to New England.

Following several constitutional conferences, the Constitution Act, 1867 brought about Confederation creating "one Dominion under the name of Canada" on July 1, 1867, with four provinces: Ontario, Quebec, Nova Scotia, and New Brunswick. Canada assumed control of Rupert's Land and the North-Western Territory to form the Northwest Territories, where Métis' grievances ignited the Red River Rebellion and the creation of the province of Manitoba in July 1870. British Columbia and Vancouver Island (which had united in 1866) and the colony of Prince Edward Island joined Confederation in 1871 and 1873, respectively.

Prime Minister John A. Macdonald's Conservative government established a national policy of tariffs to protect nascent Canadian manufacturing industries. To open the West, the government sponsored construction of three trans-continental railways (most notably the Canadian Pacific Railway), opened the prairies to settlement with the Dominion Lands Act, and established the North-West Mounted Police to assert its authority over this territory. In 1898, after the Klondike Gold Rush in the Northwest Territories, the Canadian government created the Yukon territory. Under Liberal Prime Minister Wilfrid Laurier, continental European immigrants settled the prairies, and Alberta and Saskatchewan became provinces in 1905.

Canada automatically entered World War I in 1914 with Britain's declaration of war, sending volunteers to the Western Front who later became part of the Canadian Corps. The Corps played a substantial role in the Battle of Vimy Ridge and other major battles of the war. The Conscription Crisis of 1917 erupted when conservative Prime Minister Robert Borden brought in compulsory military service over the objection of French-speaking Quebecers. In 1919, Canada joined the League of Nations independently of Britain; in 1931 the Statute of Westminster affirmed Canada's independence.

The Great Depression brought economic hardship to all of Canada. In response, the Co-operative Commonwealth Federation (CCF) in Alberta and Saskatchewan enacted many measures of a welfare state as pioneered by Tommy Douglas in the 1940s and 1950s. Canada declared war on Germany independently during World War II under Liberal Prime Minister William Lyon Mackenzie King, three days after Britain. The first Canadian Army units arrived in Britain in December 1939. Canadian troops played important roles in the Battle of the Atlantic, the failed 1942 Dieppe Raid in France, the Allied invasion of Italy, the D-Day landings, the Battle of Normandy and the Battle of the Scheldt in 1944. Canada is credited by the Netherlands for having provided asylum and protection for its monarchy during the war after the country was occupied and the Netherlands credits Canada for its leadership and major contribution to the liberation of Netherlands from Nazi Germany. The Canadian economy boomed as industry manufactured military materiel for Canada, Britain, China and the Soviet Union. Despite another Conscription Crisis in Quebec, Canada finished the war with one of the largest armed forces in the world. In 1945, during the war, Canada became one of the founding members of the United Nations.

This growth, combined with the policies of successive Liberal governments, led to the emergence of a new Canadian identity, marked by the adoption of the current Maple Leaf Flag in 1965, the implementation of official bilingualism in 1969, and official multiculturalism in 1971. Socially democratic programmes were also founded, such as universal health care, the Canada Pension Plan, and Canada Student Loans, though provincial governments, particularly Quebec and Alberta, opposed many of these as incursions into their jurisdictions. Finally, another series of constitutional conferences resulted in the patriation of Canada's constitution from the United Kingdom, concurrent with the creation of the Charter of Rights and Freedoms. At the same time, Quebec was undergoing profound social and economic changes through the Quiet Revolution, giving birth to a nationalist movement in the province, and the more radical Front de libération du Québec (FLQ), whose actions ignited the October Crisis in 1970. A decade later, an unsuccessful referendum on sovereignty-association was held in 1980, after which attempts at constitutional amendment were attempted and failed in 1989. A second referendum followed in 1995, in which sovereignty was rejected by a slimmer margin of just 50.6% to 49.4%. In 1997, the Supreme Court ruled that unilateral secession by a province would be unconstitutional, and the Clarity Act was passed by parliament, outlining the terms of a negotiated departure from Confederation.

1. Critique Of Pure Reason by Immanuel Kant

Immanuel Kant (22 April 1724 – 12 February 1804) was an 18th-century German philosopher from the Prussian city of Königsberg. He is regarded as one of the most influential thinkers of modern Europe and of the late Enlightenment.His most important work is the Critique of Pure Reason, a critical investigation of reason itself. It encompasses an attack on traditional metaphysics and epistemology, and highlights Kant's own contribution to these areas. The other main works of his maturity are the Critique of Practical Reason, which concentrates on ethics, and the Critique of Judgement, which investigates aesthetics and teleology.

Kant's work was stimulated by taking seriously Hume's skeptical conclusions about such basic principles as cause and effect and the implications of this skepticism for Kant's grounding in rationalism. In Kant's view, Hume's skepticism rested on the premise that all ideas are presentations of sensory experience (known as Ideal theory of the mind). The problem that Hume identified was that basic principles like causality cannot be derived from sense experience only: as Hume argued, we experience only that one event regularly succeeds another, not that it is caused by it. Kant's goal, then, was to find some way to derive cause and effect without relying on empirical knowledge. Kant rejects analytical methods for this, arguing that analytic reasoning can't tell us anything that isn't already self-evident. Instead, Kant argued that we would need to use synthetic reasoning. But this posed a new problem — how can one have synthetic knowledge that is not based on empirical observation — that is, how can we have synthetic a priori truths?

6. The World As Will And Representation by Arthur Schopenhauer

Arthur Schopenhauer (February 22, 1788 – September 21, 1860) was a German philosopher known for his atheistic pessimism and philosophical clarity. At age 25, he published his doctoral dissertation, On the Fourfold Root of the Principle of Sufficient Reason, which examined the fundamental question of whether reason alone can unlock answers about the world. Schopenhauer's most influential work, The World as Will and Representation, emphasized the role of man's basic motivation, which Schopenhauer called "will". Schopenhauer's analysis of "will" led him to the conclusion that emotional, physical, and sexual desires can never be fulfilled. Consequently, Schopenhauer favored a lifestyle of negating human desires.

The main body of the work states at the beginning that it assumes prior knowledge of Immanuel Kant's theories, and Schopenhauer is regarded by some as remaining more faithful to Kant's metaphysical system of transcendental idealism than any of the other later German Idealists. However, the book contains an appendix entitled Criticism of the Kantian Philosophy, in which Schopenhauer rejects most of Kant's ethics and significant parts of his epistemology and aesthetics.

Schopenhauer believed that Kant had ignored inner experience, as intuited through the will, which was the most important form of experience. Schopenhauer saw the human will as our one window to the world behind the representation; the Kantian thing-in-itself. He believed, therefore, that we could gain knowledge about the thing-in-itself, something Kant said was impossible, since the rest of the relationship between representation and thing-in-itself could be understood by analogy to the relationship between human will and human body. According to Schopenhauer, the entire world is the representation of a single Will, of which our individual wills are phenomena. In this way, Schopenhauer's metaphysics go beyond the limits that Kant had set, but do not go so far as the rationalist system-builders that preceded Kant. Other important differences are Schopenhauer's rejection of eleven of Kant's twelve categories, arguing that only causality was important. Matter and causality were both seen as a union of time and space and thus being equal to each other.

John Stuart Mill (20 May 1806 – 8 May 1873), British philosopher, political economist, civil servant and Member of Parliament, was an influential liberal thinker of the 19th century. He was an exponent of utilitarianism, an ethical theory developed by Jeremy Bentham, although his conception of it was very different from Bentham's. He was a forceful proponent in the fight for government intervention in social reform.

Utilitarianism is the idea that the moral worth of an action is determined solely by its contribution to overall utility: that is, its contribution to happiness or pleasure as summed among all persons. It is thus a form of consequentialism, meaning that the moral worth of an action is determined by its outcome: put simply, the ends justify the means. Utility, the good to be maximised, has been defined by various thinkers as happiness or pleasure (versus suffering or pain), although preference utilitarians like Peter Singer define it as the satisfaction of preferences. It may be described as a life stance, with happiness or pleasure being of ultimate importance.

Leo Tolstoy or Count Lev Nikolayevich Tolstoy (September 9,1828 – November 20, 1910), was a Russian writer widely regarded as one of the greatest of all novelists. His masterpieces War and Peace and Anna Karenina stand, in their scope, breadth and vivid depiction of 19th-century Russian life, at the very peak of realist fiction.

Samuel Langhorne Clemens (November 30, 1835 – April 21, 1910),better known by name Mark Twain, was an American author and humorist. Overview
After making long sustained moves in one direction, many markets retrace a part of the move before continuing on further. The Fibonacci indicator, popularized by Ralph Nelson Elliot, is used to try and forecast potential support levels and price targets, based on the height of the overall move and any wave patterns. For example, if a stock increased from $5 to $10 and then slipped back 50%, this retracement would take it to $7.50 before it continued upwards again. This indicator uses mathematical ratios discovered by Leonardo Fibonacci's in the 12th century. The Fibonacci summation series is 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34, 55, 89, 144... and so on to infinity. Interestingly, these numbers have the following constant relationships: The sum of any two consecutive numbers equals the next higher number. The ratio between any number and the next higher number approaches 0.618 after the first four calculations. The ratio between any number and the next lower number is approximately 1.618 (the inverse of 0.618). The number 1.618 is commonly referred to as the Golden Mean or the Golden Section. The real value of this number series is that it is "the most important mathematical presentation of natural phenomena ever discovered" (R. Fischer). It keeps popping up in everything from the proportions of the Egyptian pyramids... the number of florets in flower heads... the double helix of the DNA molecule... to the logarithmic spiral of the nautilus shell. (The well-known Elliot Wave Principle is also based on the application of Fibonacci numbers to the waves evident in any price chart.)

Interpretation
The most commonly used numbers in this analysis are 61.8% (usually rounded off to 62%), 38% and 50%. This means that, in a strong trend, the minimum retracement is usually close to the 38% level and may go as far as the 62% level. Constance Brown, a well known technical analyst, has written, "If the market has shown respect in the past to a Fibonacci grid drawn on the chart, the chances are much higher that it will also respect those levels in the future market action."

Fibonacci Retracements
• Fibonacci Retracements are based on a trendline drawn between a significant trough and peak. • If the trend is rising, the retracement lines will descend from 100% to 0% • If the trendline is falling, the retracement lines will ascend from 0% to 100%

• Horizontal lines are drawn at the common Fibonacci levels of 38%, 50%, & 62% • As the price retraces, support and resistance often occur at or near the Fibonacci Retracement levels.

Fibonacci Arcs
Fibonacci arcs can be added to the same chart, or they can be charted alone. The arcs are drawn centered on the last peak or trough, crossing the original trendline at the points where the retracement lines intersect. The price will tend to "react" to both the arcs and the retracement levels, as they provide support and resistance.

Price Targets
More advanced studies can also be undertaken, based on the Fibonacci numbers, to develop price targets. One such approach is to add a second copy of the original Fibonacci grid above or below the first (depending on which way the market is trending). This will give you potential price targets based on adding a new set of 38%, 50% and 62% lines.

One of the most confusing aspects of the trading profession is there is no single definition of "trader." Traders come in many different shapes and sizes, colors, and varieties. Traders generally focus on a specific class of security, mostly common stocks, but they may also trade equity options, commodity futures, financial futures, futures options, bonds, foreign markets, and so forth. The type of security of choice also dictates the specific market(s) on which they trade - NYSE or Nasdaq , Chicago Board Options Exchange , The Chicago Board of Trade , and so on.

When trading common stocks , professionals will generally undertake one of several styles and stick only to that style. This is an important point since traders are always at the risk of being distracted by the din of ubiquitous market commentary and confliciting trading styles. Traders are constantly soul-searching and questioning their own chosen approach. Some amount of experimentation is advisable, particularly at the beginning of your trading career, but deviating from a disciplined, focused approach can be disastrous once you've found your niche.

Some of the first decisions you will make will determine where your niche is and what type of a trader you want to be. There are at least five distinct styles of common-stock trading, each completely unrelated the others. The style that you choose will likely reflect your intellectual strengths, your understanding of various aspects of the markets' operations, and your temperament.

The major styles of equity trading are as follows:

Novice traders might experiment with each of these techniques, but they should ultimately settle on a single niche, matching their investing knowledge and experience with a style to which they feel they can devote further research, education, and practice. Entire textbooks are devoted to each style, although many titles such as Day Trade Online or How to Get Started in Electronic Day Trading are unclear about what type of trading they espouse.I will devote the balance of this article to scalping . At the risk of disappointing some, I will not be recounting my favorite scenes from The Last of the Mohicans, but I will be describing a trading technique whereby the trader "scalps" small profits by exploiting the spread of a slow-moving stock. In my next column, I will explore momentum trading, followed in the future by technical analysis and swing trading. As always, if you are more interested in one style over another, please let me know--I can easily adjust my columns to reflect the interests of the majority of readers.

The ScalperThe scalper is a type of trader who generates trading profits from stocks that are not moving. Scalpers make tiny (or teenie ) profits from each trade by exploiting the bid-ask spread: they buy a stock on the bid then turn around and sell at the ask. Provided that the stock does not move, scalpers can profit all day by making dozens (or hundreds) of trades, buying at the highest price at which they feel comfortable and selling at the lowest price that guarantees sufficient profit while still being attractive to buyers within the market.

The scalpers' role is exactly the same as that of the market maker (also known as the specialist ), who is a dealer that, by trading stock from his or her own inventory, maintains an orderly market in any given stock. The specialist is basically a scalper on steroids, as the specialist will trade many times more volume per day than the average scalper. The specialist, however, is bound by strict exchange rules while the individual trader is not. For example, on the Nasdaq all market makers are required to post at least one bid and one ask at some price level, thereby making a two-sided market for each stock that they cover.

Due to the overlap of roles, the scalper is always competing with the market maker for profits. Unfortunately, the lowly scalper is almost always at a disadvantage due to the market maker's advatages: superior execution speed, perhaps a greater knowledge of trading, and the ability to "bluff" the market by placing a bid or ask that exaggerates his or her own true position.

The other factor working against the scalper is decimalization , whereby stock prices that were previously quoted in fractions are now quoted in decimals. With fractions, scalpers were always aiming for at least a sixteenth of a point in profit, also known as a teenie, equating to 6.25 cents per share. On a 1,000 share trade, for example, buying a stock at 10 and selling it at 10 1/16, a scalper would generate $62.50 in profits before commissions.

With the advent of decimalization, teenies are now toast, and the difference between bid and ask may be a single penny. On the 1,000 share trade described above, buying at $10.00 and selling at $10.01 would generate only $10.00 in profits, most likely not even enough to cover trading commissions.

This is not to say that scalpers' profits have been entirely scalped. Depending on the stock traded and its liquidity, spreads may remain much higher than a penny, allowing scalpers to generate even more than a teenie. By increasing the number of shares bought and sold (trading 2,000 instead 1,000, for example), scalpers can compensate for any realized decline in spreads, but this comes at the expense of increasing their risk. As for any style of trading, finding a niche from which you can derive profits is your utmost goal. Once you've found that niche, you can refine your technique so that you may be able to successfully trade for pennies just as you were able to trade for teenies.

What do you need?
- 1H (of 30MIN, but you wil get wore whipsaws) candlesticks/bar charts
- 18 EMA & 28 EMA (put them in red)
- 5 WMA (in blue) & 8 WMA (in yellow)

Long term
The 18 EMA & 28 EMA are two red lines who form a tunnel, these will help you to determine the start
of a trend and the end of a trend.

Short term
The WMA & 8 WMA will show you when to enter a trend, they will also help you to see the strenght of
the trends.

Entry Signals
You should only open a position, when the red tunnel is extremly narrow or crossed !
LONG: 5 WMA & 8 WMA cross the red tunnel upwards.
If the 5 WMA also crosses the 8 WMA upwards, then the signal is extra strong.
SHORT: 5 WMA & 8 WMA cross the red tunnel downwards.
If the 5 WMA also crosses the 8 WMA downwards, then the signal is extra strong.

Exit Signals
Signals that show the end of the chosen trend:
- Long: The price has reached a top and 5 WMA dives under 8 WMA Close position
- Short: The price has reached a bottom and 5 WMA jumps above 8 WMA Close position
Always close your position when boundry’s of the red tunnel cross eachother or when they become so
narrow that they are one! This is a clear sign of a trend reversal. After you see this, close your position
and open a new postion in the other way (If you were long, close, open a short postion)
When in a trade and the 5 WMA & 8 WMA cross the red tunnel -> Pay attention! As long as the red
tunnel boundy’s doesn’t cross eachother there is no problem, but often this is a sign that they will.

Basic rule
!!!Enter a position were the red tunnel boundry’s cross and exit that position when they
cross again!!!
!!! Always use a stoploss - I recommend a 10-15 pip stoploss !!!

Time Sensitive Trades

Pattern 1: The 15-minute Opening Range Scalp (15ORS pattern)
This is my all-time favorite method- it’s easy to do, need no more than
telephone or Internet access to a broker, and is very reliable. It differs
from the usual notions of opening range breakouts in that profits are
taken so quickly that the trade lasts no more than 1 minute.

Setup: Wait for the first 15miute range to form from the
open.
Entry: Enter on a buy stop 2 tics above the high of the first 15min range or Enter on a sell stop 2 ticks below the low of the first 15 min range
Profit exit: Close out positions on an immediate 1-point profit
Stop Loss: Exit for loss on a 1 point loss from entry or,
Exit if trade is open for more then one minute.
Re-entry: On being stopped out, look for the usual breakout in the opposite end of the opening range. In this case I normally double my stop entry size and wait. Same exit rules apply.

Pattern 2: The 10 o’clock jiggle (10OJ pattern)
As mentioned in the last few issues, 10 o’clock New York time provides
ample opportunity for the market to reverse its current intraday trend
from the open.

Setup: Wait for the market to make to 15-minute bar closes from the open. If the market is near the intraday high for the 1st 30 minutes of trading, be prepared to go short. If the market is near an intraday low for the same time period, then be prepared to go long.
Entry: For sell setups: Enter on sell stop 1 tick from low of the last 15 min bar.
For buy setups: Enter in buy stop 1 tick from high of the last 15-minute bars
Profit exit: Close out positions on 1.5 point profit
Stop Loss: Close out on 1 point loss or if trade takes more than 1 minute. Cancel all stop entry orders (if not hit) after 10.30 has passed. No re-entry rules here.

Pattern 3: The 3 o’clock jiggle (3OJ pattern)
Due to the US bond market close around 3 pm New York, there is a
reversal tendency similar to the 10 o’clock jiggle.

Buy setups: Place entry buy stops if the move 30 minutes prior to 3 pm has been down
Sell Setups: Place entry sell stops if the move 30 minutes prior to3pm has been up
Entry, Exit & stop losses: same as the 10 o’clock jiggle Cancel all entry stop orders (if not hit) after 3.30 has passed. No re-entry rules here

Ujian dalam memposisikan hidup di dunia, tak selalu sering tapi selalu terbawa dalam makna bernapas ini. Makna ujian itu adalah arti pertanggunganjawab atas sedikit gerak dan hasil kita selama ini, tanpa ia harus menyesal untuk berbuat itu.

Lebih dari itu, aku sedang merasakan tanpa harus melihat bahwa kenyataan ini adalah masalah yang terencana dari awal, apakah Tuhan yang mencampuri atau sejak dulu, manakala aku telah mengawali masalah dengan sedikit harapan yang sebenarnya dalam keremangan. Tapi yakinlah akan doamu anak manusia ?

Harapan yang dulu terhenti. Tatkala hasrat hendak mencapainya, adalah perimbangan antara serat dan lancar. Dan kini, harapan yang terhapuskan oleh kuasanya waktu dan benturan keadaan, akhirnya muncul dalam bentuk ujian yang mengiurkan rasa gelora remaja.

Satu tonggak awal dari masalah ini, adalah keberanian, harapan dan nafsu yang belum terobah dalam kecilnya masaku.

Hari yang seharusnya begitu berarti, kini menjadi tak berarti, hanya dikarenakan lepas dari kemanfaatan yang terlupakan pada hari-hari yang mendatang, justru itulah yang menjadikan kesempatan menjadi sangat tak berarti.

Tidak hanya hari yang melatarbelakanginya, tapi karena sudah menjadi luapan dari kebiasaan, maka bulanpun akan terlupakan menyamai kedudukan hari yang tak berarti itu. Dan yang lebih tradis adalah hilangnya kesempatan dan juga percaya akan kelebihan dari hari yang telah terlewati. Bulan yang suci dianggap hanya sebuah moment yang biasa dan tak cukup untuk menduduki keberhasilan dari keutamaan yang seharusnya sudah menjadi haknya.

Sebuah sikap yang telah membantu membuat tradisi baru yang sulit untuk diubah dan acuh yang sebenarnya, tapi kapan ia akan menjadi idealis tentu selama ia tetap pada keakuannya itu, padahal ia masih membumi dan tetap memakai nama yang asli-dahulunya.

Pada tuntutan zaman ini, manusia harus terpacu dalam lingkup yang bersifat materialisme fisikal, karena hanya pengaruh ilmu pengetahuan itulah manusia harus mengempiriskan setiap tatanan nilai kehidupan yang telah terlaksana.

Pada dataran teoritis, setip orang harus memegang argumentatifnya dengan berwacana idealisme, yang sebenarnya ia telah terbelenggu pada keterbukaan pemikiran yang seharusnya akan ia pahami, sehingga ia terkukung dalam inklusifitas wacana, hingga kebenaran yang ada hanya ada dalam dadanya saja. Bukan itu ! namun landasan teoritis itu telah membawanya dalam praktis relevan yang mendasari idealisme.

Ketika jalan telah buntu dan nafsu membisu, maka keinginan hiduppun membeku dalam kehangatan keinginan cinta yang mengkalbu, gerak tak tertepi, mengayun lambai takdir dalam kepasrahan jiwa dan emosi yang terbelenggu.

1. Latar Belakang Keluarga dan Pendidikan
Hazrat Inayat Khan lahir di Baroda pada 5 Juli 1882, dengan nama panggilan kecil Chotamiyan. Ia terlahirkan dari keluarga terpandang. Ayahnya adalah Mashaik Rahmat Khan, seorang musisi besar dari Sinklot (Punjab) yang sangat terpengaruh oleh gerakan Wahabiyah. Ibunya adalah Khatijabi, yakni anak perempuan dari Maulana Bakhsh yang juga seorang musisi. Pada awalnya Ayah Inayat Khan adalah musisi besar yang disuruh oleh Maulana Bakhsh untuk mengajarkan kemampuan musiknya pada Murtuza Khan (kakak laki-laki Khatijabi). Lewat kesempatan ini pula ia berkenalan dengan Khatijabi yang kemudian menjadi istrinya. Dari runutan ayahnya, Inayat Khan termasuk keluarga ningrat yang mempunyai runutan leluhur besar dari pimpinan suku Yuzkhan dari bangsa Turki. Sehingga sangat wajar jika di kemudian hari Inayat Khan mendapatkan pendidikan, pengalaman dan perkenalan yang luas di hampir seluruh pelosok India.
Inayat Khan tidak dibesarkan di keluarganya sendiri, namun dibesarkan di keluarga kakeknya, Maulana Bakhsh yang nama aslinya adalah Chile Khan. Sedangkan nama Maulana Bashksh awalnya diberikan atas kehormatan seorang tokoh besar tarekat Christiyah karena kiprahnya dalam musik di anak benua India. Di rumah kakek inilah Inayat Khan mendapatkan pengajaran dan pengalaman banyak dari kakek dan sahabat-sahabat kakek, karena di tempat ini sering kali dijadikan tempat kumpul dan diskusi para sastrawan, filosof dan musisi India.
Pada masa sekolah, Inayat Khan bersama saudara laki-lakinya Maheboob Khan telah disekolahkan oleh kakeknya di sekolah Hindu terbesar di Baroda. Sekolah ini telah menerapkan kurikulum yang sudah sangat modern dengan memasukkan ilmu-ilmu eksaks dalam mata pelajarannya. Dan Inayat Khan sangat suka mata pelajaran bahasa, filsafat dan komposisi. Selain itu sejak umur 14 tahun ia sudah banyak membaca buku-buku berat tentang sastra maupun filsafat, semisal pengarang Swami Dayanand Sarasvati, Kabir dan Guru Nanak. Selain sastra dan filsafat, ia juga membaca buku karangan Vidurnuti tentang moral dengan cara otodidak. Dan setelah umur 14 tahun ia kemudian mengembara dari Utara sampai Selatan India untuk memperdalam keilmuannya.
Pada tahun 1897 ia bersama ayahnya kembali lagi ke Baroda. Dan di Gayanshala saat itu telah didirikan sekolah jurusan musik Barat oleh AM Pathan. Ia kemudian bergabung untuk mengajar bersama di sekolah itu dan menuliskan pemikirannya Harmonium Shikshak dan Nayat Phidal Shikshak. Namun sangat disayangkan karena karangan itu tidak dipublikasikan.
Pada tahun 1902 ibu dari Inayat Khan meninggal dunia yang kemudian disusul juga oleh sepupunya. Tahun 1903 istrinya juga meninggal dunia. Hal ini merupakan pukulan berat baginya. Sepeninggal itu ada keinginan dari Inayat Khan untuk mengembangkan dimensi spiritualnya dengan belajar sufistik. Maka ia berangkat ke Hyderabad menemui Maulana Umar untuk meminta beliau menjadi gurunya, namun hal tersebut ditolak. Lalu ia meminta juga pada Maulana Khoirul Mubin untuk menjadi gurunya, tapi sekali lagi ia juga ditolak. Namun atas anjuran Maulana Khoirul Mubin juga untuk menemui Syekh Mohammad Abu Hashim Madani, salah seorang tokoh tarekat Christiyah untuk menjadi gurunya. Pada akhirnya ia diterima (1904 M) dan belajar dari beliau selama empat tahun. Dari beliau ia belajar banyak tentang tarekat Christiyah dan diajarkan tentang kefanaan (fana fi shaikh, fana fi rasul dan fana fi Allah). Pada akhir penghujung pembelajarannya, ia mendapatkan amanat untuk mengharmonisasikan antara Timur dan Barat dengan keselarasan musik.
Sejak mulai tahun 1907 sampai 1910, ia mengembara ke belahan Timur dengan tujuan Nepal, Gwalior dan Varanasi (tempat suci bagi orang Hindu). Ketika di tengah perjalanannya di Calcuta ia mendapatkan berita tentang kematian ayahnya, namun Inayat Khan tetap teguh untuk terus melanjutkan perjalanannya.
2. Perjalanan Hazrat Inayat Khan Ke Dunia Barat
Pada 13 September 1910 ia bersama The Royal Musiciant of Hindustan, yakni grup musik yang terdiri dari teman dan saudaranya Maheboob Khan, Ali Khan, Musharaf Khan dan Ramaswami mengembara dengan tujuan ke dunia Barat. Awal pengembaraan mereka diwarnai dengan adanya bencana kelaparan dan wabah penyakit.
Tempat singgah pertama Inayat Khan dan saudara-saudaranya di Barat adalah New York. Di sana ia bersama kawan-kawannya mendapatkan undangan dari Dr. PM C. Rybher (Dekan Fakultas Musik) di Universitas Columbia. Awalnya konser Inayat Khan sangat kentara tidak diminati banyak orang. Dengan alasan ini ia kemudian belajar tentang agama dan budaya Barat pada St. Dennis, yakni seorang penari ballet yang cukup terkenal. Dari St. Dennis inilah kemudian ia mulai banyak tahu tentang karakter orang Barat terkait agama dan budaya Barat. Dan setelah itu ia berpindah ke San Francisco.
Tidak berselang lama kemudian ia bersama teman-temannya mendapat undangan konser lagi dari Universitas California dan sangat diterima baik oleh President International Club University. Di Universitas California inilah awal konser Inayat Khan sukses mendapat pujian dan dapat diterima dengan baik. Inayat Khan di daerah New York untuk pertama kalinya menerima Mrs. Newn sebagai murid dan di Seattle ia juga menerima Mrs. Ade Martin sebagai murid dan mengubah namanya menjadi Rabia.
Pada musim panas Maret 1913 ia pindah ke London dan menikahi Ora Ray Baker (warga keturunan New Mexico) yang kemudian berganti nama Amina Sharda Begum. Dari istrinya ini ia mendapatkan empat anak, yakni Nurun Nisa, Vilayat, Hidayat Dan Khoirun Nisa. Di London ini Inayat Khan bertemu dengan Rabindranath Tagore, lalu ia dipertemukan dengan teman pemusiknya yang terkenal, Fox Strangways. Dari Fox inilah Inayat Khan banyak belajar musik Barat. Pada bulan Agustus tahun 1914 mulai terjadi perang dunia pertama, sehingga ia harus meninggalkan Paris menuju London dan menetap di sana hampir 6 tahun. Pada tahun 1914 sampai 1920 saat perang dunia pertama ini, telah dijadikan kesempatan oleh Hazrat Inayat Khan untuk mempelajari psikologi guna memikirkan pemecahan problem Barat. Adapun karangannya terkait dengan psikologi adalah The Art Of Personality, The Alchemy Of Happiness dan Philosophy Psychology and Mysticism.
Pada Mei tahun 1913 Inayat Khan pernah mengunjungi Rusia dan bertemu dengan Scriabine, seorang pemusik Rusia ternama dan Chaliapin (anak dari pengarang terkenal Leo Tolstoy) yang bekerja sebagai penyanyi. Dan di Perancis Inayat Khan bertemu dengan Calude Debussy, seorang komposser terkenal di Prancis. Dan dari teman-temannya inilah Inayat Khan banyak belajar tentang musik Barat.
Selama pengembaraannya di Barat, Inayat Khan banyak menyebarkan pesan-pesan sufi (sufi message). Dengan alasan itu kemudian ia mendirikan organisasi sufi di London dengan nama The Sufi Society pada tahun 1917. pada tahun 1920, Hazrat Inayat Khan mempublikasikan lima karya besarnya, yakni The Unity of Religious Ideals, In a Eastern Rose Garden, The Mysticism of Sound, Love, Human and Divine dan Health, Mental Purification and The Mind World.
The Sufi Society sempat berubah nama menjadi Sufi Order dan pada akhirnya berubah lagi menjadi Internasional The Sufi Movement. Dan pada tahun 1923 di Geneva didirikan pusat Internasional of The Sufi Movement. Semenjak itu Inayat Khan banyak menerima undangan dari berbagai kalangan untuk mengadakan konser maupun kuliah pesan-pesan sufinya di berbagai universitas semisal pada tahun 1926 di Lucknow.
Pada tahun 1926 ada keinginan Inayat Khan untuk kembali ke India. Dan sesampainya di India ia mendapat undangan dari Universitas Delhi untuk menyampaikan kuliahnya tentang The Sufi Message dan Unity and Love. Pada saat itu kondisi Inayat Khan sangat memburuk karena ia sebelumnya juga melakukan perjalanan keliling India mulai dari Istana Dilkusa, Varanari, Agra, Srikandra, Makam Sultan Akbar, Ajmer, Jaipur dan Baroda (makam kakeknya). Pada akhirnya tepat pada tanggal 5 Februari tahun 1927 Hazrat Inayat Khan meninggal dunia pada umur 45 tahun. Ia dimakamkan di dalam darqah sangat indah yang dibuat oleh muridnya dari Belanda. Meninggalnya Hazrat Inayat Khan di India ini menimbulkan duka cita besar bagi masyarakat India, karena kiprahnya yang sangat besar di belahan dunia Barat untuk menyampaikan pesan-pesan spiritualnya. Namun di sisi lain kiprah Hazrat Inayat Khan masih tetap dilanjutkan oleh teman, saudara dan anak-anaknya dalam gerakan spiritualnya "International of The Sufi Movement ".
